Sussex jars update

Oh dear, I’m massively behind with updating the jar finds. These are from way back in September.

Jar No 256

Jar No 256
Kirsty Hall: Jar No 256, Sept 2011

I’ve seen or collected a jar: Collected a jar

Number on lid of jar: 256

Your name (optional): Laurence Hill

Date jar found (optional): 16.9.11

If you collected a jar, what motivated you to pick it up? (optional):
I’ve been following the project from the beginning and Kirsty came to
give a presentation about it at the gallery where I work in Brighton.
Was determined to find the jar but because it was a couple of days
before I could look I was pretty sure it would be gone already. But no
– I got it.

Where is the jar now? (optional): It’s on the mantelpiece in my flat.
Much as I’d like to keep it (and I would) I think that I’ll re-release
it sometime before the end of the year. In one of the cities where one
hasn’t been released yet, or possibly abroad. I’m certainly going to
Brussels later in the year and will likely be in France and Holland at
some point.

I was delighted that Laurence found Jar No 256: it’s always extra special when people who’ve been following the project find their first jar. If you do re-release the jar, Laurence, don’t forget to let me know.

Jar No 257

Kirsty Hall: Jar No 257, Sept 2011

Jar No 257 hasn’t been reported yet, so it may still be at large in Lewes.

Here’s the lovely Lucy Bond and her very colourful fringe standing next to the jar spot.

Extra clues for a damp Saturday

It’s grey and wet out there but that doesn’t stop my regular Jar Hunters, so here are a few extra clues for some older jars…

Jar No 118

Jar No 118 was released over in Easton. But is it still there?

Jar No 143

I’ve always thought Jar No 143 was rather lovely, so I hope it’s still out there waiting to be found. If you want to go searching for this one, you’ll need to take a trip up to Horfield.

Extra Hebden Bridge clues

Last week, I was asked for extra clues for the remaining Hebden Bridge jars, so here they are. As usual, I have no idea if these jars are still in the wild, they may already have been found but they certainly haven’t been reported.

Jar No 169

Jar No 169 was released in June but who knows, it could still be hiding out in the woods.

Start here…

Foolishly, I didn’t take any wider shots of Jar No 170 but if you start at the road entrance to the Hebden Bridge railway station, you’re close.

Jar No 227 was in an easy spot, so I’d be surprised if it’s still in place but here’s a wider shot, just in case.
